A letter.
Dear Lisa,
This is a letter to you to try and help you understand yourself a little better.
Your mental health issues are not caused by your actions. They are simply chemical reactions that you have no control over. You need to stop the self-hate and constant over analysing of everything. Some days are mentally shit, you didn't cause this, it sometimes just happens.
You also need to stop worrying about other peoples feelings towards you. Not everyone will like you, You don't like everyone either, that's fine, it's just life. Other people will also have shit days, unless you have directly caused these days, they are not your problem. If you want to try and help, then do , but be prepared to not be needed. This is also fine and does not mean you have failed. Let it drop.
You also need to stop trying to change your life in a day, and when that fails give up. The things you need to change are long-term habits/problems. They didn't happen overnight so they won't go away overnight. Calm down, try and take a longer view. Set realistic goals.
If you need help ask for it. Don't soldier on or assume people are mind readers. People sometimes can't help or don't want to. This is also fine, they don't have to, just let it go and try not to bear grudges.
If you don't want to do something, just say no. Don't say yes and then feel resentful, that's not fair. You don't have to have reasons or explain, just say no politely, ideally with a smile. Don't do things because they're expected, or for praise, or sympathy, do them because you want to.
Enjoy the moment or if it's a bad moment, be assured, it will pass. It's ok to daydream away a little time, but it's also good to plan. Walk more, you enjoy it. Some days the outside world is terrifying but try and go out, even if it's a five-minute dog wee-walk. You always feel better after.
Ok, that will do for now. Best wishes, Lisa x
