Woman Flu

Wow what a week. Dearly beloved passed me his germs and I have felt totally crap. I haven't had a cold/flu thing like this since....ever! I just feel so bloody weak, shuffling along with the dog, coughing and spluttering like a consumptive. Bloody horrible.
Moving on, I found out today that a lady I have known for 45 years has been admitted to hospital for the final time. I last saw her a few weeks ago and although she was frail and stooped, she had the same glint in her eye that she's always had. She is one of those people who really would give you her last pound, her house is always warm and welcoming and she knows ALL the best gossip. She remembers everyones birthday, however old you are, you still get a card. Her husband died many years ago, but her house is always full of friends and family, The kettle is always on, and you will be fed (like it or not!). I hope the end is quick and painless for her. Many, many people will miss her. Myself included.
The dark cold weather is proving a real mood killer, My mental health has taken a bit of a beating, but I have ways to cope. Eating properly and being kind to myself are simple things that really work.
My new sewing machine is a happy purring electronic beastie. We haven't fallen out yet, plus it's so much quieter than the old one. I have fabric and patterns, but I only have one knitting, one crochet and one sewing project on the go at once, so things must be finished before new things are started. Otherwise, the house turns into a tip, the dog doesn't get walked and we live on chips! I am slowly changing my bad habits after a lifetime of having twenty things on the go at once and not enjoying any of them. My dear Grandad used to pull his hair out over my lack of patience and organisation, Well Pap, look at me now hehe.
