Baby love
A rather fabulous bit of news was delivered to us on Christmas day, We are going to be grandparents! Delighted doesn't even begin to describe the feelings running through my head. Oh, the joy of having something small and cute to cuddle......that you can hand back if it wails or poops! Eldest and her lovely husband are starting on the best journey in the world, exhausting and challenging but also huge fun and very rewarding. Our new game is to come up with the worst baby names, Donald seems rather current.
In other news, it's less than a week until the youngest daughter ties the knot! I can't wait to see her and her lovely lady become Mrs and Mrs, it's rather good to live in an age when you choose a partner that you love, rather than one society deems suitable. My heart goes out to all the generations who had to make do with the choice the law allowed them, or to spend life alone or hidden. The wedding plans are well advanced ( thankfully daughter-in-law-to-be is organised, darling daughter isn't), the only tiny issue is with one of the fathers of the bride, Namely my husband. He is currently in Singapore and doesn't get back to the UK until sparrow-fart on Friday, the wedding is on Saturday. If his plane is delayed/diverted we could have a problem. Actually, he could have a problem, because if he is late there will be a queue of furious daughters, mothers, wives and friends, all ready to remove his testicles! We shall see...
We have the annual frog shag-fest underway in the garden, the pond is heaving with thrashing limbs and gutteral croaks. Randy buggers. One poor female has been shagged to death, too many males clung to her and she drowned. Nature is nasty. The resident wood pigeons are also strutting their beaky stuff, the males are all puffed up and proud. The females seem more interested in food. I can understand that. Spring is finally here hoorah!
