The sound of silence

What a busy month! Husband away to the states for a week, Hospital appt. Dog walking, Snow, Xmas gift knitting......and relax! Probably not that busy if you work, have little kids etc, but busy enough for me.
I am now the proud owner of a hearing aid. Joy. Not. I have resisted for several years, but the polite nodding when I haven't heard a word, and the constant asking to repeat things was getting ridiculous. As usual the NHS was splendid, efficient friendly and kind staff, working in drab, cramped conditions. I will not climb onto my spending cuts soapbox as I've jumped up and down on it so many times, it's liable to collapse!
Keith is growing at a pace, he has reached the *ahem* shagging stage of puppyhood. The cushions are taking a beating. Oh dear. He gets a glazed look in his eyes, and then it's libido central. I think a little removal of dog danglies may be on the cards.
We had a lot (for us) of snow, which was great for about an hour. I took Keith for his first walk in the white stuff and he loved it, much digging and sniffing was had and that was just me! hehe. I love the silence you get with a snowfall, especially when there are no cars about- we seem to have missed being gritted. Husband missed the snow as he was in Texas, he had to make do with photos. It's strange when he's away-everywhere is tidy! Actually, that's a lie. I had a sewing project on the go and the housework got kicked into a corner, cue a mad cleaning frenzy as his plane was coming into Heathrow!
Life trundles on, I try and appreciate all that I have and keep my mental health in a good place. Looking forward to a quiet xmas with people that I love because that's all that matters really isn't it?
