Me Myself and I

 December 31, 02.25. Finally I've acquired the latest cold bug, Burning throat, swollen nose, running eyes. I look gorgeous. We had our first Christmas at home for a couple of years and it was really good. I miss going to Loweswater or Seascale on Christmas day, but the dogs enjoyed the local lake just fine. I have a shiny new laptop from himself, I didn't realise how slow and flaky my old Chromebook was. I bought the husband some computer innards! The old mental health is also a bit grim, Like looking at everything through a smeared window. I always feel low at this time of year, at least the days are getting longer. We have a new white multi-stemmed birch in the garden, it's rather small but hopefully it will settle itself in and get growing. After a cold snap with snow the weather is mild again, currently 9 degrees and raining. I have a garden centre gift card burning a hole in my pocket, i'm thinking of blowing it on an evergreen climber that's not ivy. We have ...

 Well I haven't been here for ages. Too lazy and too boring. Another year has nearly passed, big birthday for husband chops. The political situation in the UK is shocking and very depressing, but enough of that nonsense. We've had a Welsh holiday and a Cornish holiday, Wales was fab and can't wait to go back. Cornwall was rather depressing, a lot of empty shops and business premises, everywhere seemed tired and tatty. I'm in no hurry to go back. The garden continues to grow and delight me, just a bit of replanting stuff that we moved to have the drive paved and husbands man-shed built. It's actually a garden room and is probably better specced and insulated than our house. I have suggested he needs a bed in it..... This is what happens when you don't close the bedroom door properly! Plus the bloody heron who has pinched more Koi this year.
