Lake District

Seascale to be exact. Beautiful even with the decom nuclear plant out of view to the right. Gotta love a rusting old Magnox!

Or knitter or any thing to fiddle with.  This is a lamb with detatchable ears! Big granddaughter likes odd things, so this is for her birthday.

Gardening times

Now the builders have gone, work on the garden starts. First thing to check was that no builders were actually buried under the rubble! They have rung us to ask if we have found a scaffold tower wheel, once we dig up the mud that they spread over their debris, we will let them know! This is the first part of the garden before.... And after. My lovely hub has worked miracles on this muddy uneven mess. Love him. The next area is where he will put his new workshop, very much a work in progress. I just hope we have a continuation of the glorious weather we're having, as this could take a while, under the flat mud is about 8 inches of assorted builder crap! Oh well, at least we got the build finished while supplies were still available- cement is currently a rare and precious thing. Time for wine......

Bye bye builders

It's finished!!! Finally all the irritating bits have been finished, the decorating is done and the work is signed off. Never ever again, Five weeks estimate became four months in total. The garden is still a hippo wallow pool because we couldn't face any more useless bloody groundworkers making a mess of everything.  And this is a very lovely fence that my genius husband built for me, I give him a tiny photo and a vague idea of what I would like and he does this! Clever man x Plus we've revamped the old study for when the granddaughters stay, Phew busy times.

Marching forward...

....Dubious title! A good week, the new extension has been plastered and looks HUGE. I've had my first covid jab, knitted lots of hats for charity, and upcycled some old furniture. We've started tidying the garden and making a heap of builder debris for them to remove- they had basically bashed the ground flat with a digger bucket, leaving all their rubbish in the soil, cheeky feckers! Dogs, husband, and granddaughter. We were looking after her while her amazing Mummy delivered granddaughter Number two! We've met her briefly and she is beautiful. Some good news in these difficult times.

Mud, mud glorious mud...

Crochet and building. Not a lot else. Some snow and lots of mud. No resolutions to break.
