Aberystwyth

We've just had a few nights in Aberystwyth and it was splendid! Much knitting, reading and dog walking Oh I do love a harbour! The slightly fishy diesel smell is one I love. Ok I know that's weird but this is me and my love of odd smells. The smell of wet dog is less pleasant! Luckily the fab cottage we stayed at has an outdoor dog shower, Luxury! We found  several new beaches to explore. This one has a lime kiln! And this is a photo from inside the lime kiln where I was sheltering from the rain and hail, Gotta love the Welsh weather. We also had a dusting of snow and sat outside and drank coffee, a proper mixed bag. I can't wait for our next trip.

Ill again!

Yet another bloody sore throat, hot and cold and bloody insomnia. This is getting tedious. We are having biblical amounts of rain so the dogs are permanently wet/ muddy. Where has spring gone? Lots of house sorting, plus the frogs have arrived......and gone again. Probably the drop in temperature. The monster Kallax has been dismantled and is in the attic awaiting a new owner. In its place is something smarter and smaller... We just need to paper the walls and hang some mirrors. Healthy eating is on hold, I'm too ill and tired to plan and cook at the minute. An afternoon tea was had with this nutter, it was lovely!

Holiday fun

A lovely time was had in cold but sunny Wales. Much sea swimming-dogs and coffee drinking- me and him. Lots of driftwood was collected to make things with, not sure what yet! Much knitting and reading, Pretty perfect really. Aberystwyth front, splendid as always. Back to healthy eating and more walking now. No more treats in cafes for the dogs either!

2024???

How did that happen? Last time I looked it was 1998 and I was young and lively. Oh well each day is a gift and not a promise. The weather has gone from biblical rain to very, very cold. Less mud on the dogs paws and bellies, but I sport a lovely blue nose every time I go out. Himself is in Italy for a work trip, then it's holidays for us YAY! Wintery Wales here we come.....soon.    The garden is looking inviting in the sun, well it would be if I cleaned the french doors. Lots od house sorting to do as I live like a tramp when husband chops is away- does a creme egg count as a breakfast food? Asking for a friend.... Keith looking guilty as he chucks his food over my freshly mopped floor! What an arse he is. Enough, the cold and walkies beckon.

Decembrrrrrrrr!

Blimey it's cold. Didn't stop the dogs having a canal swim this afternoon though.  That's them in the distance!  Me and husband chops decided against a swim in the murky Grand Union.    Had a lovely outing to Delapre Abbey yesterday with my youngest daughter, Good food, Unique gifts and lots of giggles. A real treasure of a place that we're lucky to have on our doorstep. Have given up trying to book a holiday, too many lies from cottage owners. Which is very sad really.  Real Baklava from a little Turkish bakery, Truly delicious. God I'm greedy and boring!

Total refund..

...From the holiday of horrors! Still doesn't compensate for the travel costs, wasted time and bloody crapness of it all. Onwards and sideways though. My mental health is always a bit crap at this time of year, I know this and deal with it, but it is annoying. Much leaf sweeping going on and knitting of woolly socks. A muddy walk to our local lake, a new chair and a splendid sunset taken from the back door.
